Weddings at Chippokes

A Southern Tradition at a Southern Plantation

 

-Historic Area Grounds-

The historic area grounds are ideal for outdoor weddings. Various locations are conducive to either large or small gatherings. The formal gardens contribute to the visual ambiance that is important when a decision is made to have an outdoor wedding or reception. Crepe myrtles, boxwood, and azaleas grace the formal gardens among other trees and shrubs.
  • Use of alcoholic beverages is prohibited for any event taking place in the gardens or historic area grounds.
  • Location map must be received 1 week prior to the reservation date.

  • Events can only take place in designated areas (see location map).

-Conference Shelter-

An excellent choice for wedding receptions, meetings, family reunions, or other special events, the conference facility is located in the pastoral historic area of the park, across from the mansion. This screened facility is equipped with a full kitchen. Tables and chairs are available for rent at a nominal fee. Alcoholic beverages may be served in the Conference Shelter provided a banquet license is obtained from the ABC board. Alcohol must be served and consumed inside the Conference Shelter or in the backyard area. Failure to comply will result in the termination of the reservation. All necessary permits are to be obtained by the person reserving the Conference Shelter. Permits must be on file at the park office at least 1 week prior to the event .

  • Bands/DJs must stop playing 1 hour prior to the end of the reservation to allow for breaking down of equipment.


  • A service road to the shelter is available only for loading/unloading.


  • Parking for the Conference Shelter is located at the mansion parking lot.

  • Parking along the roadside is prohibited and will result in a parking ticket.

-Jones Stewart Mansion-

The Board Room extension of the Jones- Stewart Mansion, provides a quiet place for business meetings and can also be used in conjunction with weddings. The Board Room area has a dining table that seats 15. Caterers can use the the adjoining kitchen Two changing rooms and rest rooms are available to the wedding party.


  • Food preparation and consumption is only allowed in the kitchen/boardroom.

  • Vehicles may park in the circular area in front of the Mansion for the sole purpose of loading/unloading and shall only be allowed for a short period.

  • All vehicles must park in the Mansion parking lot.


  • Smoking is not allowed inside the building.

  • Alcoholic beverages may be served inside the Boardroom provided a banquet license is obtained from the ABC board.

-Reservation Information-

  • Tent rental includes assembly & disassembly by Chippokes staff.

  • Signs/balloons may be placed along roadsides and intersections, but must be taken down by the reserving party after the event.

  • The reserving party must check in at the Visitor Center before proceeding to the reserved facility.

  • Parking fees are included only with the wedding package.

  • The Chippokes staff is not responsible for setting up and/or taking down tables and chairs. This is the responsibility of the reserving party and must be completed within the time reserved.

  • All deliveries and pick-ups must be completed within the reserved time period.

  • Smoking is not allowed in the facilities

  • Cleanup of the facility/grounds is the reserving party's responsibility.

  • Conference Shelter--- $110.25 per 4 hours
  • Mansion Board Room ---$110.25 per 4 hours
  • Mansion Board Room ---$27.30 per hour max. 2 hrs.
  • 40 x 40 Tent ---$756.00 setup/take-down
  • Tables--- $10.50 per table
  • Chairs--- $2.63 per chair
  • Parking--- Weekday $2.00/Weekend $3.00 per car

Holding a date: A seven day verbal hold can be placed on the date of inquiry. Once the hold expires you may extend your hold for an additional seven days. Before the extension expires 30% of the reservation total is due in order to secure the reservation date.
 
Payment: Balance payment is due 10 days prior to the reservation date.
Cancellation: 10% of the total reservation fee is withheld  when cancellation occurs
60 days or more prior to reservation date.
20% of the total reservation fee is withheld when cancellation occurs 14 or more days prior to the reservation date.
Less than 14 days prior to the reservation date 30% of the total reservation fee is withheld.
